Fondation Descartes

La Fondation Descartes est une initiative citoyenne, apartisane, indépendante et européenne dédiée aux enjeux de l’information, de la désinformation et du débat public dans une société démocratique.

Fonctionnement et gouvernance

La Fondation Descartes est animée par trois organes : un Conseil d’Administration présidé par Jean-Philippe Hecketsweiler ; un Conseil Scientifique encadré par Gérald Bronner et d’une équipe permanente, dirigée par Laurent Cordonier, Directeur de la recherche.

Die Idee der Website ist es, ihren Benutzern es zu ermöglichen, Webseiten auf dieselbe Weise zu kommentieren, wie sie Bücher kommentieren würden. Ziel ist es, Klarstellungen und Korrekturen an den Inhalten vorzunehmen.Die Plattform soll völlig frei und kostenlos sein und ist nicht auf Gewinn ausgerichtet. Ihre Vergütung kommt von privaten Sponsoren, wie zum Beispiel der Stiftung des Gründers von Ebay. Alle Benutzer werden auch zum Spenden aufgerufen, falls sie es wünschen.

Our News ist ein kollaboratives soziales Netzwerk, das versucht, Desinformation zu bekämpfen, indem es seinen Benutzern die Möglichkeit anbietet, Artikel auszutauschen, die sie für richtig halten. Die Artikel werden dann von den Benutzern kritisch betrachtet. Eine Moderation wird von einem Algorithmus durchgeführt, um die Anzahl der auf der Plattform eingefügten Fälle von gefälschten Nachrichten zu reduzieren. Sein Etikett lautet Newstrition®.

Das Ziel besteht darin, Fälle zu identifizieren, in denen Artikel nicht für die Relevanz ihres Inhalts geschrieben werden, sondern nur, um eine Reaktion und einen Klick des Lesers zu verursachen. Die Website besteht darauf, dass ihre KI nicht das Wahre vom Falschen unterscheidet, sondern nur Hinweise auf die möglichen Verzerrungen gibt, die ein Auszug enthalten könnte.

Chrome and Firefox extension, based on an artificial intelligence tool named “Walt”, that aims to help users better understand what they read on the Internet. The goal is to identify cases in which articles are not written for the significance of their content, but rather to elicit a reaction, and a click, from the reader. The site insists that its AI does not detect if the article contains facts that are true or false, but only provides guidance on the possible biases that a statement could contain.
