Promote the need for sincere information for a democracy based on trust

In Praise of Sincerity

Montesquieu, Charles-Louis
01/01/1717

Concealing oneself behind a mask, as Descartes once claimed, has become a necessity for anybody wishing to participate in the “spectacle society” that democracy has become. Montesquieu’s In Praise of Sincerity offers a critique of insincerity, stating that concealment is a behavior that is psychologically, morally and politically unsustainable.
